#20 Relax & Reflect (Completion)

What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey? Massive amounts of free games available on Yahoo! Chance to see missed TV programs on Hulu and Fancast. Music I want to hear on Finetune.

How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals? Hasn't.

Were there any take-aways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you? That I actually completed it!!

What could we do differently to improve upon this program's format or concept? As you can tell from my blog title "Kicking and Screaming" I was not a voluntary participant of this program. Maybe you could do something about that.

If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again choose to participate? I didn't CHOOSE to participate in this one.

#19 Gaming

Was it more complicated than you thought? Easier? It wasn't too bad. Of course, I like word games and puzzles, which are probably easier to manipulate than the arcade games.
Did you try anything that interested you? In the 5-minute Daily Games I checked out Sudoku Daily and Hollywood Jumble. In the other free games I checked out Armor Academy and Ball Lines.

#18 Maps and Geotagging

Did you find what you were looking for? Yes.
What surprised you about the program? Not all addresses are created equal. My neighborhood was blurry and my mom's neighborhood was quite clear and even the cars showed up very clearly.

#17 Avatars & Second Life

Are you ready to share your avatar with us? No. And since I'm not, I obviously won't be including an image of my avatar in this post.
Do you already live in Second Life? No.
If you don't already live in SL, would you like to live in Second Life? No.
Why or why not? I find that "First Life" gives me plenty to keep me busy in the "real" world with my "real" self.

#12 OverDrive downloads

Did you notice anything you liked, didn't like? You can't go wrong with music; but even so, I only found a couple to check out.
How was the selection of titles on the topics you browsed? Disappointing selection of entertainment movies and I don't listen to audio books. I prefer to read them myself. Quite a few titles, but hardly anything with the authors I read.
Were your favorite authors available in the collection? Very few.
Did anything surprise you about this service? No.

#10 Wiki Wiki Fun!

What did you find interesting? I didn't!

What types of applications within libraries might work well with a wiki? All kinds of directories -- library practices and procedures.

#9 YouTube, Hulu and Fancast -- streaming video

YouTube:

Look for videos about libraries. Search for videos on topics that interest you. What did you find? A big mess. My searching skills are pathetic.

Hulu and Fancast:

Explore both sites and look for movies or tv shows that might interest you. Would you use either or both of these sites? Yes. Why? Movies right now and see missed tv programs. Would either of these sites be useful for libraries? Sure.

#8 Facebook, MySpace aka Friend Networks

What features do you like or dislike about the site you visited? I like that it is geared for an older age group. It even has online games.

What do you think makes them so popular? Are you kidding! This is a lot of people's lives. This is their entertainment. Their connection to the world.
